Bursaries administered by IIC
Istituto Italiano di Cultura in Vancouver does not offer scholarships directly. Rather, we:
- administer bursaries offered, for promotional reasons, by private language schools in Italy;
- provide information and forms for the scholarships offered to Canadian citizens by the Italian Government, as well as general info on scholarship opportunities for Italian citizens to study in Canada. For both these types of scholarship, please visit our pages Scholarships and bursaries in the "Opportunities" section.
Short-term bursaries offered by private schools of Italian in Italy
Several schools in Italy (see list below) offer courses in Italian language and culture, that are assigned by the Istituto Italiano di Cultura in Vancouver to students and residents of Western Canada.
For further information, or to receive an application form, please email the Istituto, or call 604-688-0809 ext. 22.
NEW - PROCESSING FEE: All non-member applicants for bursaries administered by the Istituto are charged now a non-refundable processing fee of $ 12.00, payable by cheque (or cash) to IIC Vancouver.
The bursary service, however, remains free to all IIC Vancouver members or students enrolled in our language and culture courses.
This is how to read the types of bursaries offered: for each school, a letter indicates the type of bursaries offered, while a number indicates the quantity of bursaries available. Some schools require payment of a registration fee at the time of enrollment. Unless otherwise specified, the duration of the courses/bursaries is 4 weeks.
- A++ = bursaries covering entirely the enrollment fee, accommodation and meals
- A+ = bursaries covering the entire enrollment fee + accommodation (partially)
- A = bursaries covering the entire enrollment fee
- B+ = bursaries covering the enrollment fee only partially + accommodation entirely
- B = bursaries covering 50% of the enrollment fee (or more, if specified)
- C = bursaries covering accommodation expenses
- D = bursaries for teachers of Italian as a second language
- E = discounts on enrollment fee (usually up to 50%)
