Teachers


The teachers of Italian language and culture at the Istituto are native speakers with university qualifications and experienced in teaching Italian as a second language.

Rosanna Frasson


Born and educated in Rome, Italy, she completed her modern languages studies at the University of Geneva in Switzerland, where she obtained a degree in translation.


Teaching experience:

Rosanna Frasson is currently an instructor of Italian at Simon Fraser University, Surrey Campus.


Silvia Giabardo

Born and raised in Italy, Silvia Giabardo completed her education at the University "Ca' Foscari" of Venice, where she graduated in Foreign Languages and Literatures, majoring in Romance Philology.

For the past 15 years she has been teaching Italian as a Foreign Language at all levels, as well as Italian literature and commercial Italian. Her career started in San Francisco, CA, then continued in Florence, Italy, and later in Vancouver, BC, where she was an instructor at UBC - Continuing Studies.

Silvia is currently teaching Italian at the Vancouver Community College - Continuing Education and at Istituto Italiano di Cultura, where she also facilitates one of the book club groups.


Monica Liscio Gordon

Education:

- Laurea in Lettere e Filosofia, University of Turin, Italy;
- University of Siena DITALS Certificate for teaching Italian as second/other language;
- Currently working on the thesis for her M.A. degree in Modern Languages Education, UBC.

Teaching Experience as instructor of Italian:

- Open University, Tel Aviv, Israel;
